Terms of use

1. For adults only

rosalon is aimed at adults. If you are under 18 years of age, leave the site. Only someone who is at least 18 years old can create a visitor account.

2. What rosalon is – and what it is not

rosalon is a directory. It contains profiles that advertisers create themselves, pages about houses, market figures and links to listings on other portals.

We do not arrange meetings, do not take bookings and do not handle money. What a meeting costs and how it goes, you agree directly with the person or the house. We are not involved in this.

As soon as we open paid offers, a band labelled “Featured · paid” may appear above the list of search results. The profiles in it have been paid for by the person who advertises or by their representative, all at the same price. There are at most three, their order is drawn anew on every page view, and they only appear there if they match your filters. The list below is not affected: with or without the band, it is the same. Why you see a profile in the band is explained by the note “Why am I seeing this?” next to it.

3. Searching without an account

Searching, comparing and reading work without an account and cost nothing. We do not store what you search for in connection with you – but if your search finds nothing, we record for 30 days what was searched for, so that we can find the error. In addition, we count as a daily total for everyone together what is searched for, including what is typed into the search fields; we replace any phone numbers, email addresses and links in it beforehand. Apart from that, our server keeps a searched name in working memory for at most 20 minutes so that you can page through the results. 4. Details without guarantee

Profiles are written by the advertisers themselves, and we do not check every detail. The badge for an ID check says that we have compared the ID and the selfie by hand – nothing more. Prices are details given by the advertisers or the houses.

We take over details on listings from other portals without guarantee; the original is what counts. More on this in the notice on listings from other portals.

Travel times, traffic reports, public transport disruptions, taxi companies and the information on where Uber or Bolt operate are aids without guarantee. This information comes from third-party sources or is calculated and may be out of date or wrong.

5. Reusing the market figures

The market figures on the “Market figures” page – the aggregated figures about the market – are made available under the CC BY 4.0 licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). You may share and adapt them, including commercially, if you name rosalon as the source, refer to the licence and indicate what you have changed.

This licence does not apply to anything else on rosalon: not to the other texts and pages, not to the details on individual houses, not to profiles and not to the data behind the figures. Anyone who wants to use any of this asks us at [email protected].

What is set out in the section “Respect and safety” remains unaffected: you do not collect information about people here.

6. Respect and safety

Treat the people who advertise here with respect. A listing is no entitlement to a service: whether, when and on what terms a meeting takes place is decided by the person themselves, and they can say no at any time.

Do not use rosalon – including the search by name – to track someone down, follow them, expose them or put them under pressure. Do not read out the site automatically to collect information about people.

7. Reviewing with a visitor account

You can review houses, not people. Write only about what you have experienced yourself, truthfully and factually.

The following do not belong in a review:

• names, descriptions or photos of people who work there;
• phone numbers, addresses or other details that can be used to find someone;
• statements about what a particular person offered or did;
• insults, threats and claims about things you have not experienced yourself.

The stars count immediately. We read the text before publication and may reject it. The house can reply; the reply appears next to your review. After twelve months a review no longer appears. We hide a reported review until we have decided.

Anyone who threatens a bad review in order to get something loses their account.

8. Your account

One account per person, with an email address that belongs to you. Keep your password secret. If you also want to advertise, run a house or rent out premises, you tick this on your account page; the terms for advertisers then apply in addition. From then on your account no longer reviews houses, even if you remove the tick later. You delete your previous reviews beforehand or leave them standing without any link to you – what that means is set out in the privacy policy.

You can delete your account yourself at any time; the reviews attached to it disappear with it. Reviews that you left standing without any link to you when you ticked the box are no longer attached to it and remain until they expire after twelve months. We may block or delete an account if it breaches these terms, without prior warning in the case of a serious breach.

9. Reporting

If a profile, a card or a review concerns you, or if something is not right, use the reporting channel on the page. You do not need an account for this.

We take a reported profile offline immediately, even before we have looked at it – unless the report concerns coercion, fraud or a business posing as private, or it states “Other reason”. Then we look first, and the profile remains visible until we have decided. In every case a decision is made within 48 hours.

If you have specific indications that a minor or someone under coercion is advertising, report it to us immediately. If you report coercion or choose “Other reason”, describe what you are basing this on; without a description the form does not accept this report. If someone is in danger, call the police first: 117.

10. Liability

We run rosalon with care, but without guarantee that the site is always available or that all details are correct. We are not responsible for meetings, arrangements and payments between you and advertisers; we are not involved in them.

To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for damage that we cause intentionally or through gross negligence.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. The version in force is published here, with its date. If something essential changes for visitor accounts, we ask again at the next sign-in.

12. Governing law and place of jurisdiction

Swiss law applies. Jurisdiction is governed by the statutory rules; in contracts with consumers, these cannot be departed from in advance.
